Job Description for Formulation Chemist in  Process Lab

• Requires basic laboratory skills (use of balances, gram and pound conversion, yield accounting, equipment operation) in addition to job specific skills taught  
• Requires some independent judgment but must be able to understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures
• Making liquid batches of products for testing.  Batches will range in size from lab to pilot plant scale.
• Measuring quality of these batches using analytical techniques such as pH, Color, Viscosity, and Appearance
• Placing and monitoring product for stability over time

Skills

• Intermediate computer skills – MS Excel and Word
• General laboratory skills, experience working in a laboratory preferred
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand on feet for long periods
• Attention to detail, data accuracy, and data recording is critically important
