Lead Patient Account Associate
Under the supervision of the Patient Financial Services Manager, this position will be responsible for ensuring the timely completion and oversight of billing and collection of third party claims and self-pay liability on accounts up to and including final disposition of the account balance in compliance with the departmental policies and procedures. The lead must demonstrate Customer Focus and expert Functional/Technical skills while providing financial assessment and evaluation of each account. The Lead must comprehend the hospital’s financial policies; possess the ability to apply it to the securing payment for the patient’s hospital liability. The Lead is required to maintain excellent customer service standards at all times in order to effectively communicate with physicians, physician, offices, patients, and co-workers. This position will be responsible for maintaining open communication with the Manager on issues, opportunities, and situations involving compliance. This position must respond and relate to the Manager and team as well as internal and external customers of Patient Financial Services. This position is responsible for cross-training staff members as well as cross-training for other positions in the event of unforeseen circumstances. In addition, this position will ensure quality customer satisfaction.

5 - 7 years of job related experience of job related experience Prior job title or occupational experience: Healthcare billing, collections, or access experience or banking collections experience. Prior specific functional responsibilities:
Typing accurately 30-40 words per minute accurately required.
Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel required.
Basic knowledge of accounting principles, including debits and credits required.
Ability to alphabetize and compare names and numbers required.
Ability to review work for detailed accuracy and completeness required.
Basic math skills including percentages required.
Medical terminology preferred.
